Every year in December, Théâtre Jean-Duceppe generously hosts an opening night, the proceeds of which go to the Auberges du cœur. In doing so, Compagnie Jean Duceppe, headed by President and General Manager Louise Duceppe, is demonstrating that social causes must be addressed collectively.
The 14th edition of this event generated close to $5,000 in 2007, as a result of the generosity of spectators who were invited to make a donation on opening night.
Directed by Monique Duceppe, Peter Quilter’s “La Casta Flore” was presented on December 21, 2007.
A word of thanks to Louise Duceppe
Dear Louise,
For 15 years now, Compagnie de Théâtre Jean-Duceppe has embraced the cause of the Auberges du cœur by inviting actors to light up the stage for the cause of troubled and homeless youth. You have succeeded in combining the social commitment of artists and the beauty of the theatre, in such a way that calls upon your spectators to show solidarity toward the Auberges du cœur. You have raised the curtain on the hope of troubled youth and played a leading role in our community – all in the interest of our community and of our young people’s creative potential.
On behalf of the thousands of young people we welcome in our shelters every year, thank you for your commitment and tremendous work. We are extremely grateful.
