Sometimes all it takes is a small gesture to make a big change for disadvantaged and homeless youth.
Objective: $90,000
On April 17 and 18, 2008, we’ll hear thousands of piggybanks jingling across Quebec during Opération Tirelires. Break open your piggybanks and give generously to the teams of young people from the 29 Auberges du cœur in 11 regions of Quebec!
Last year, the 15th edition of Opération Tirelires generated $75,000. This year, our objective is to raise $90,000. To reach this goal, people have spontaneously formed teams to collect donations and we are counting on your help, as well!
Auberges du cœur youth and volunteers
will flock to public places to collect donations.
Auberges du cœur youth and volunteers will be going out to various locations
to collect donations from the general public. In Montreal, they will be available
on April 17th at the following subway stations: Angrignon, Beaudry, Berri-UQAM,
Bonaventure, Côte-Vertu, Frontenac, Joliette, Lionel-Groulx, Longueuil,
McGill, Mont-Royal, Papineau, Pie IX, Place des Arts, Sherbrooke, Viau and
Complexe Desjardins.
This year, young people and volunteers will also be present in some forty locations collecting donations in the province’s main cities: Laval, Joliette, Rawdon, Mascouche, Longueuil, St-Hyacinthe, Granby, Sherbrooke, Magog, Victoriaville, Drummondville, St-Jean Chrysostôme, Québec, Chicoutimi, Jonquière, Rimouski, Gatineau, etc. Look for the Opération Tirelires jerseys on April 17th, 18th and even on the 19th in some cities. For those of you who would like to give but won’t be available on those
dates, you can make a donation at any CIBC branch in Quebec from April
14th to 19th.

Benefit concert La Fanfare Pourpour welcomes…
Women of compassion!
To close the 16th edition of Opération Tirelires, a benefit concert was held on Friday, April 18th 2008, at 8:00 p.m. at the Lion d’Or.
Discover the pictures of this unique musical affair featuring enchanting melodies blended with the voices of women of compassion. Sylvie Laliberté, Magnolia, Amélie Veille and Karen Young graciously agreed to get involved in the wonderful adventure in order to help the troubled and homeless youth at the Auberges du cœur regain a sense of hope.

Bring in your piggybank for Opération Tirelires
This year, the CIBC will join the Auberges du cœur Foundation in raising funds during Opération Tirelires! All CIBC branches in Quebec will support the Auberges du cœur in their communities by participating in this unique fundraising drive. From April 14th to 19th, the general public is invited to bring their piggybanks to any of the 126 CIBC branches in the province to donate their change to the Foundation.

Improvise-Dons! Electro-improv night!
Oblik Communication, a group of 8 Communication/public relations undergraduate students at Université du Québec à Montréal, is organizing an electro-improv night at Petit Campus on Sunday, March 30, 2008, the proceeds of which will be directed to the Auberge du cœur Foundation.
The C.I.A. team will go up against the Limonades and offer spectators a thrill-a-minute performance. The evening will continue to the electrifying beat of the Upperground Control Project band.

Tournoi des Dieux
Sixteen editions already for the ever-popular Collège Ahuntsic Tournoi des Dieux! From March 1 to 14, some twenty teams composed of teachers and students faced off in a series of 10 challenges requiring skill and wit. In solidarity with youth, the teams worked toward the Césars, a set of fundraising activities benefiting the Auberges du cœur!
